The Obligatory Car Photo: Al Capone’s Armored Cadillac
Too many generations of power-oriented policing and institutional racism and now terrorism. It may be too late for American policing as we know it.

It’d likely help things if we rethought our shitty drug laws.

That’s a big part of it.

If you spelled armor right the cops wouldn’t have an issue with you.

Show me institutional racism. Like actual proof.

I agree, but considering what just happened in Dallas, that level of protection, no matter how intimidating it is, may be the new normal, if it isn’t already.

I definitely smell a pork product of some type.

Racial profiling is a problem. Whites commit as many crimes as everyone else, but aren't caught nearly as much because they aren't profiled.

The guy on the right maybe. The one on the left looks like he was maybe PLAYING Rainbow Six....

Yeah, but then someone might have to confront the possibility that the current laws are a total crock of horseshit. We can’t have that.

Ok prove that and then prove that it is institutional to profile blacks.

Don’t engage. He’s just out to say “told ya!” later.

Sigh. Let’s just look at a few things these people said, ok?
“want more military-type training and military equipment through a Pentagon-led program”. Pentagon-led program is the key here. Is it no surprise that the pentagon is pushing for militarization, something that benefits them?
“This will cause complaints about violating people’s constitutional rights to free assembly, but it is the only way to guarantee safety” I - and I’m sure the vast majority would agree with me - would rather be free and unsafe than protected but limited. This country is based on the fact that these constitutional rights should never, ever, EVER, under ANY circumstance be voided. Maybe it starts with assembly or speedy trial, but it’ll end with speech.
“Everyone on both sides needs to take a step back.” They say as they arm themselves with rifles and military tactics.

If you're White, then you have an advantage. The laws are written by Whites to protect and serve Whites. And enforced unevenly.

Earth to Frank: oh, never mind.

The American police are four generations late in shifting from power to finesse and now, terrorism is in vogue. It's bad. But the big question is why it took this long for something like Dallas to happen.

If you’re talking about the US cops it’s Armor

Nah, they do protect everyone. There are just bad eggs, which then cause groups to get singled out. It's humanities' tribal roots kicking in. The only time the laws truly didn't protect everyone would have been before the civil rights movement and that short period of time afterward.
